Modern American celebration of Mother's Day was first celebrated in 1908 when Anna Jarvis held a memorial service for her mother in Grafton, West Virginia. To make campaign for "Mother's Day USA" a national holiday in the United States began in 1905 and died in the year of his beloved mother, Ann Reeves Jarvis.
